Young Families

If you have a young family in the New Orleans area, we know how hard it can be to find the time to get to know other young families or attend Jewish-related events. JNOLA wants to provide a safe space for kids and parents to have fun, learn, and experience how great New Orleans can be for a young family!

If you have any questions or ideas for appropriate events, please email Tana Velen at

Safari in the Sukkah-WEB

Join JNOLA for “Safari in the Sukkah” at the Audubon Zoo on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:00 p.m. Not only will you be surrounded by your JNOLA friends and family, your kids will also get to meet, pet, and learn about some of the zoo’s friendliest animals! There will also be a balloon animals artist and face painting!

To celebrate the festival of Sukkot, we will have a sukkah, the traditional Luluv and Etrog (which will be explained by some of our area Rabbis), and a light, kosher dinner for all. This family-friendly event is sure to be a roaring good time!

Safari in the Sukkah will be held in the Dominion Room at the Audubon Zoo. Directions to the location will be sent closer to the date of the event. Tickets are $5 per family and we look forward to seeing you there!
